In the winter the hills are great for tobogganing, children love to run up and down the hills, and slide down trying to avoid hitting the trees on the way. The abundance of fresh snow in the forest makes it also a great place for snow fights. Two lakes interconnected by channel with a bridge over it that are great spot for skating in winter. It was the place where I first learned to skate after many painful falls. Some people even prepare part of the lake as an area to play hockey and have small teams of people competing. On the edge of the area is a river with a weir. The waterfall that it creates freezes in winter making a beautiful water sculpture looking wonderful with the tall trees covered in snow standing all around it.
In summer children love to race small pieces of wood that thy drop from an overpass over the weir to the river and bet whose piece will fall down the waterfall first. The forest makes for a great play place. I have spent many days in there collecting pine cones, playing hide and seek and racing my friends up and down hilly terrain. Some of the hills are covered in sand and when I was small my parents took me there to play like in a great sandbox. The twin lakes make for a great place to swim in the summer and have fun in the water. People like to camp on the edge and bring inflatable they can float on in the lakes. By the main parking for this area is located a very nice bar that sells some snacks and food located in a nice wooden building. I always loved when my parents would take me there after our trip around the area to buy me hot dogs or some sweets.
As you see the area is a great place for rest and fun at any time of the year. Whenever you like winter or summer sports, quiet walks or just sitting in the bar and looking at the forest around it will accommodate your wishes. I recommend this place for others to visit and enjoy.
